I had fried Ube ice cream yesterday. It was topped with choco syrup and a strawberry stick. Decadent doesn’t even begin to describe the taste orgy that was going down in my mouth.

I bought a local treat while waiting for my flight to Manila from Puerto Princesa to depart. I purchased a small tube of Ube ice cream (pronounced “Oo-Bay”). Ube is a purple sweet potato-like veggie that tastes a bit like peanut butter and coconut mixed.
Anyways, as I was quietly nomming away at my delicious treat, I noticed 2 eyes staring intently at me. A little girl was basically eating my Ube ice cream with her mind. It was a little hot in the terminal too which would make any child with taste buds salivate like a dog staring into a Keg’s steakhouse window front.
Anyways, the evil bully in me took a photo of her inner turmoil. Bon appetite Filipina girl. Soo-Hon 1, Philippines zero!
Tomorrow Lori and Des fly out to India. We had a lot of fun here in the islands. I wish them safe travels, and maybe we’ll cross paths again in India.
Here are some photos from our scuba day.
